Wood & Chrome 57.5” Vintage Telescope Tripod Theater Spotlight

I don’t see any markings, so I can only guess that this was for some type of telescope or theather spotlight. When the legs are fully extended, and at the limits of the chain in the middle, the tripod is 57.5” tall including the chrome top. When closed up, it is 34” long. The tip at the top is 1/2” wide, perhaps a smidge less.
The wood is painted dark brown and has a worn finish. I wiped off most of the dust with a damp paper towel, but afterwards I realized that the tiny fibers get stuck to the finish. The surface of the wood is not sanded smooth, so it catches the paper towel fibers. The wood has some scratches show a couple chips on the inside. One small chip is missing, and another larger one chipped off and was glued back.
