    Description

A beautiful collectible set of four U.S. postage stamps issued in 1973 to commemorate the invention of the transistor by Bell Labs in 1948. Transistors made miniaturization possible and opened the door for the production of pocket radios and computer parts.
The stamps feature an early "printed" circuit board.
These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office 44 years ago! Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift to anyone who worked in the electronics industry or at Bell Labs or is interested in the history of the radio, computers and the electronics industries!
See my other auctions for blocks of historical significance including a block dedicated to Ham Radios from 1964 and another block dedicated to Marconi from 1973!
All stamps are Mint Never Hinged.
