Here is one out of the vault. This is one rare sign! An authentic 1890s Coles Peruvian Bark & Wild Cherry Bitters sign. These signs were some of the first porcelain signs made in America. Heavily made with great recessed lettering. The grandaddy of many great tonic and soda signs produced in the United States, they are an enduring and attractive piece of Americana from a time when Americans were at the forefront of world industry.
This particular sign is from the legendary collection of the late great Elli Buk. It shows some wear and rust on the corners and edges, and has had a preservative brushed on the rear.
