Rare early 1953 Curta Calculator all metal Type I with can, manuals BARELY USED

Up for auction from my personally collection is a
rare early Curta type I mechanical calculator with serial number 20920, indicating that it was manufactured in january 1953.
This Curta is a relatively early type I, so it has the early metal crank arm, the metal clearing lever and metal canister, not the plastic items used on later models.
It looks as if this Curta has seen very little use and is in gently used condition.
This Curta calculator operates well and is very clean.
All levers, buttons and actions move and function as they should, even with negative crank turns, the ten-carrying mechanism works correctly in every position of the carriage. Also the clearing lever snaps in very well.

The operating instructions and the step by step manual are high-quality reprints in new condition.
The Curta calculator was affectionately known as the "pepper grinder" or "peppermill" due to its shape and means of operation. It was also termed the math grenade due to its superficial resemblance to a certain type of hand grenade.
