The Daohugou biota is a paleontological group in the middle and late Mesozoic in northern China. It is named for its discovery in Daohugou village, Ningcheng county, Inner Mongolia. A corresponding set of fossil-rich strata is sometimes referred to as the "Daohugou Formation" or "Jiulongshan Formation". From the end of the last century to the present, the strata are famous for the discovery of a large number of feathered dinosaurs, early angiosperm precursor molecules, and an extremely large number of insect fossils. Some relict members of families and genera of the early and middle Jurassic were found in this fauna, as well as some pioneer molecules from the Jehol biota.
