    Description

    China -
A lot of 3 different circa 1914 vintage tobacco silks from Asia.  Included are silks showing flags of the
    Chinese Merchant
    fleet, an ensign flag of
    Cochin-China
and what appears to be a viceroy (vice-regal) flag from
    Tonkin.
The Indo-China Union was made up of one colony (Cochin-China) and 5 protectorates, one of which was Tonkin, the others being the Paracel Islands, Cambodia, Laos and Annan.  Tonkin was a vice-kingdom of Annan.  Actual use of the Cochin and Tonkin flags ended around 1885, so there was some leeway in the tobacco company's use of flag attribution at the time the silks were produced.
