    Description

Up for BIN or Best offer is a beautiful antique tobacco silks (or cigarette silks) quilt featuring animals and their
    native
    lands
    .
Tobacco silks were individually put into cigarette packs and collected. Sometimes people
    would
    sew them together
and make quilts, pillowcases, and other items from their collection. I collected these for
    awhile and have enjoyed them,
but now it is time for someone else to, so I am listing them today. Please see my
other items if you would like to see
    what I have available.
This quilt measures 15 1/2" long x 17" high. There are 45 silks including the the large center silk of a girl holding
a Canadian flag which reads, "Canada the land of plenty". Smaller silks have a picture and name of an animal,
names their native land, and shows the flag of that country. There may be more than one of the same silk. Quilt
appears to be hand sewn and sewn to the backing.
This item is very old and shows it's age in places, but all silks are in good condition. There is a spot on the edge
that is melting. Please see the photographs for more detail as they are part of the description. Thank you for
    looking!
