Up for BIN or Best offer is a beautiful antique tobacco silks (or cigarette silks) quilt featuring ethnic women with their countries
and flags
.
Tobacco silks were individually put into cigarette packs and
collected. Sometimes people
would
sew them together
and make quilts, pillowcases, and other items from their collection.
I collected these for
awhile and have enjoyed them,
but
now it is time for someone else to, so I am listing them today.

This quilt measures 19 3/4" long x 21" wide. There are 24 silks total: 4 large (one in each corner), and 20 smaller ones in
between. Silks alternate between girl and flag (and) country and flag. There may be more than one of the same silk. Quilt
appears to be machine sewn.
This item is very old and shows it's age in places. Tobacco silks and silk in between are in good condition. Blue silk around the
edges has melted. There are stains on the back. Please see the photographs for more detail as they are part of the description.
