Antique 30” Brass & Leather Telescope KMF PAETZ & FLOHR Berlin Germany 380 VGUC.
We purchased the antique telescope at an estate sale from an upscale home in the city. The telescope is in very good used condition for its age. I was able to extend the sections with a bit of effort. The sections were not loose. I placed the telescope on a table looking at a RR sign in our backyard (100 ft)and was able to identify the magnified image( I have a photo of the view and magnified image I can send) The front half of the barrel rotates. I assume this is to focus the image. The brass has some dings and scratches along with tarnishing from normal use and storage. The leather is worn and is missing some bits. This is a vintage collectible. You are able to see images through the telescope but it is acceptable at best. It may be able to be restored for a better image. I’ll leave that for the collectors/experts. I was not able to find a comparable scope. The offers from knowledge buyers will determine the value of this item.
