DESCRIPTION:
Expanding 5/8 inch Expanding arbor with # 2 Morse Taper Shank.
supplied with Allen wrench in a plastic storage tube.
May be used in lathes, milling machines, grinders, chucks, collet's, and fixture's
Working Diameter is 5/8" (.625) , Designed to expand up to .010 inches
Working Length is 2-5/8 inches
Mounting Shank is # 2 Morse Taper with a 3/8-16 ' 'Internal Thread for draw bars"
Made from 12L14 soft machinable steel.

NOTES:
The Expanding mandrels with a tapered shank require the customer to build a "Draw Bar" to safely secure the mandrel in the headstock.  A draw bar is in essence a long bolt or threaded rod that goes from the back of the headstock into the actual mandrel and is used to "draw" the mandrel into the taper very securely and hold it there.  The threads in the back of the Expanding mandrel are:
3/8" - 16tpi for the #2 MT mandrels and 1/4 - 20 for the #1 MT mandrels.
If you are using a collet chuck that attaches to the threads of your spindle and using a straight shank expanding mandrel, a draw bar is not needed.

hint -- If your Index Finger Tip fits in the large end of the taper on your Headstock, it is a Number 2 Morse Taper.
If Not and the taper is smaller, it is a Number 1 Morse Taper
